Double Dog Dare Chard

January 22nd, 2019 by Viv Eliot

Ok, I am totally crushing on Double Dog Dare Cellars' American Chardonnay. To be honest, as I walked to aisles of Total Wine looking for something new (i.e. looking for clever names 'cause that is how I pick wine some(all)times), I saw the name and then the price and I knew it had to be mine…at least for the night, am I right?!?! No? ok…

Considering that I chose the bottle because the name made me laugh, and the price suited my budget, I was extremely surprised by how excellent this chardonnay was. I am a chard girl at heart, so I was glad to be returning to it after exploring a multitude of reds, some bubbly, and some new chardonnay's that were less than impressive; I was…wait for it…double dog impressed by how amazing this was. It's, honestly, one of the most refreshing and crisp chardonnay's I have ever tasted with notes of pear, lemon, and apple making it light and elegant. I initially tasted notes of grapefruit, and I would say notes of lime rather than lemon, but either way, it's a pleasant, sunny and youthful medium-bodied wine that I can't recommend highly enough. I feel like this wine is also very versatile, with loads fruity notes, and a nice texture that would make any person happy. In fact, it's such a happy wine that I recommend having it on hand for any social gathering, and it won't break your bank account.

So, get yourself to Total Wine, grab a bottle, get reqless and let me know what you think…

xoxo, Viv
